We welcomed the single biggest vehicle we’ve ever operated to our fleet this month, an 18 tonne curtain-side Mercedes Actros.
It will carry 16 standard pallets with a maximum payload of 9000kgs. It has an 8m x 2.4mtr load area and, when empty, carries 49 cubic metres of fresh air. It is equipped with a tuck-away tail-lift with a load limit of 1500kgs.
Its arrival comes hot on the heels of the acquisition of several new vehicles. We have replaced one or our older 7.5 tonners with a Euro 6 model as we continue to refresh the fleet to meet stricter emissions regulations.
We have also purchased a further Luton van. Our first curtain-side Luton, it will give us a little bit more flexibility to carry some items that can’t be loaded through the rear door. It has a column tail-lift that with a 500kg maximum load.
Further additions will be made to the fleet over the coming months so look out for some shiny, new ACE Sameday vehicles coming to a road near you soon! (And of course, they will be driven by courteous, professional uniformed couriers).
